One of the most pressing issues for the pro photographer today is the problem or threat of Copyright infringement. Pick up a current issue of any of the professional publications on the market today; Photo District News, ASMP, News Photographer, Photo Pro, View Camera, etc., and you find at least one article dealing with this important subject. With court costs reaching into the thousands and possibly hundreds of thousands of dollars, the protection of your copyrighted work is, or should be, a top priority.
Called Copywrighter, this product makes it easy for the pro photographer to permanently imprint their name and copyright notice on all cut size films, from 4" x 5" up to 20" x 25" (positive or negative films). Advertisers or stock photo agencies can immediately identify the photographer's work without any mixups. In addition, the prominent identification of the photographer's copyright wards off accidental use of the photographs.
Copywrighter works in the following manner; Copyright information transposed onto lithographic negative film is affixed onto the bottom of the unit. Prior to shooting, loading of film backs, or processing, sheet film is positioned onto the Copywrighter and a quick 'exposure' is made onto the side of the sheet film, permanently transferring the copyright information directly onto your film. Operation is extremely fast and simple. For 4" x 5" film sizes, the maximum letter size is 1.5mm and the maximum length of the text is 85mm. For larger formats, 2 to 31/2mm letter size and 85mm length of text is possible.
The system utilizes state of the art electronic circuitry and an LED exposure system. IC controlled constant automatic exposure is maintained at reduced battery power. The unit is operated with a 9V battery, and includes an audible electronic buzzer for exposure control and battery check.
Precision crafted in Switzerland, the black anodized, machine aluminum body will stand up to years of service. Weight is just under 4 pounds. |
