106, 206, 306 "Media" Systems

First of a new generation of Billingham bags, Martin Billingham has incorporated both traditional design methods as well as CAD design to bring this series of bag to market.

All Media System bags share the same design and features. The only difference is size, which is found in the specification section.

All Media System bags are available in either Khaki with Tan Leather Trim, or Black with Black Leather Trim.

Inside the bag:A removable hard bottom consisting of a birch plywood core, encased in thick closed cell foam padding fits snugly into the bottom of the bag. Two (2) Superflex partitions, which are supplied with the bag, can be positioned to protect and separate various camera bodies, lenses, and flash. In addition, a single sided velcro partition flap is provided, which allows excess gear to be placed on the bottom of the bag when not expected to be used for the day and covered with this flap, which then acts as a shelf, ready to have additional gear stored on top.

Six interior pockets, two each front and rear, and two on either end of the bag will safely carry cords, filters, batteries, etc.

The most ingenious feature of this series of bag is the ability to extend the overall height of the bag by three inches by simply unsnapping two exterior buckles, located where the carry strap meets the main body of the bag (see illustration). This will allow a full-bodied D-SLR with a fairly long zoom lens to be loaded into the bag, ' lens-down ', with ample room to zip closed the main compartment. Billinghams unique PresStop feature (see illustration) greatly aids in keeping the main compartment open and accessible when shooting on the go. A simple yet sturdy interior grab handle allows the bag to be carried with the top protective flap open when needed in quick shooting situations.

The exterior of the 106, 206, and 306 is studded with features which makes the extremely user friendly.

Two (2) full size front bellows pockets are large enough to carry a vast amount of gear, from portable memory storage devices, to extra cables, cords, connectors, and other mid sized accessories. Two handy pen pockets are located on either side of these front bellows pockets. A single protective flap, secured by two robust snaps covers the bellows pockets.

The rear of the bag features a full height and width zippered compartment, which is perfect for carrying notepads, passport, paperback, or news magazine. This zip compartment is additionally protected against the elements by an extra portion of the top cover flap, which extends over the zip pull. The top cover flap is secured to the front of the bag via Billingham's famous QRC (Quick Release System) closure method.

All exterior bottom corners are amply protected with color coordinated leather. Four (4) brass feet further keep the bag from ' scuffing ' when placed on the ground.

A fully leather wrapped exterior grab handle which snaps closed allows the bag to be carried briefcase style. An extra heavy-duty leather shoulder pad, with an extra thick neoprene bottom (to prevent it from slipping from the shoulder) comes with all bags.

This series of bag will accept the Avea 6 side pockets, which greatly expand the bags' capacity, and are large enough to carry a medium sized pair of binoculars, additional photo gear, MP3 players, etc.
